Amman, Oct. 15 (Petra) -- The University of Jordan retained its position as the Kingdom's top-ranked university and secured a place among the Arab region's 10 leading universities in the QS Arab Region Rankings 2027.
The rankings, released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), assessed 300 universities across 20 Arab countries. The results showed progress for the university in several academic and research indicators. It ranked sixth in the Arab world in both academic reputation and employer reputation. It placed second in the Arab world for web impact and 20th in international research networks.
University Rector Nathir Obeidat said the university's continued leading position locally and in the Arab world reflects ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education and scientific research. He said those efforts also strengthen its competitiveness regionally and internationally.
He added that the results confirm the university's success in consolidating its academic and research standing. They also reflect its commitment to developing its educational system and keeping pace with global developments in higher education, scientific research and innovation, Obeidat said.
Obeidat stressed that the university will continue to develop its academic programs and expand partnerships with international institutions and universities. It will also support scientific research and innovation, he said, to strengthen its presence in global rankings, improve graduate employability, and meet labor market requirements.
The Arab Region Rankings are among the most prominent regional rankings of higher education institutions. QS issues them annually, based on 10 main indicators that measure academic and research performance and employer reputation. They also include indicators on international research collaboration, the learning environment, and web impact.
